About Kimberly

Executive perspective.

Kimberly is a former global Chief Human Resources Officer at a Blackstone portfolio company, a full-cycle C-suite executive, a trusted leadership advisor, and the founder of Curvirata Partners.

Lessons from inside the room.

Leaders can benefit from the lessons of experience without having to learn every lesson the hard way.

Kimberly spent years inside the rooms where leadership decisions are made, careers are shaped, and business strategies are developed. Her experience includes global leadership responsibilities at an organization operating in more than 25 countries. That experience in strategy, culture, transformation, and talent gives her a perspective that goes beyond theory.

Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Illinois. She has led Human Resources teams throughout most of her career and has also been asked to lead marketing divisions. Her experience includes board-level responsibilities and serving as a core team member for two IPOs.

Today, that perspective informs both her advisory work with leaders and organizations and her short videos, Corporate Unwritten Rules, which explore the unspoken dynamics of corporate life.

Experience that shapes perspective

What leaders need most is often perspective they cannot get from inside the room.

How to Win Friends and Influence People
Dale Carnegie

Chances are, many of the senior leaders you’ll encounter have already read this book. It’s a business classic that belongs in your professional vocabulary.

Thinking in Bets
Annie Duke

If you pride yourself on thinking logically, or enjoy understanding the odds in sports or poker, this book offers a similar way to approach decisions in business and life. It’s an engaging introduction to making better judgments when you don’t have all the information.

The Five Dysfunctions of a Team
Patrick Lencioni

A book I love giving to recent graduates. Written like a novel, it’s a quick, accessible read that introduces important business lessons without feeling like a textbook. A great starting point for someone new to the workforce or beginning to explore business books.
